Past Technology Evaluations

Instrument performance demonstrations and verifications are necessary so that effective existing technologies can be recognized and so that promising new technologies can become available to support coastal science, resource management, and ocean observing systems. To this end, ACT serves as an unbiased, third party testbed for evaluating sensors and sensor platforms for use in coastal environments.

ACT staff working on recent evaluations

ACT has completed a Performance Verification of four in situ dissolved oxygen sensors, eight in situ chlorophyll fluorometers, five in situ turbidity sensors, and eight salinity sensors. ACT has also completed a Performance Demonstration of four in situ nutrient analyzers.  Complete Verification and Demonstration Statements can be downloaded from the ACT Reports page. Detailed Testing Protocols used for evaluating the performance of instruments are also available for download.
